Orcas Island’s Fourth of July is a beloved, small-town celebration that brings together locals and visitors for a full day of community spirit, tradition, and fun.
From the annual 5k Fun Run and community picnic to the lively parade and fireworks, the holiday showcases the heart and generosity of our island through a variety of events.
In 2026, the celebration holds special significance as we honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence- marking a historic milestone in island style!

Kick off your Fourth of July with a burst of energy and island spirit by joining the annual 5K Fun Run- whether you race, jog, or stroll, it’s a festive way to be part of the celebration from the very start.

Community Picnic
Join the island as we come together to celebrate the weekend! Bring a blanket, a bit to eat, and just enjoy the beautiful island that we call home.

It’s time to celebrate! Join the whole island as we scrable to find the best view point to see the night sky fill with all the fireworks imaginable!

Farmers Market
Explore the Orcas Island Farmers Market, where local farmers, artists, and makers come together to offer fresh produce, handcrafted goods, and a vibrant taste of island life. As is tradition, the results of the Eastsound Mayor’s Race will be announced at the market following the parade!

Be part of this vibrant, festive tradition featuring homemade floats by island organizations, multi-generational families, and a unique cast of characters all showing off their community spirit!

Take a stroll through time and get an up-close look at the beautifully restored classics and vintage favorites featured in the parade while talking automotive history, timeless craftsmanship, and a little personal passion with the owners.
