Position Summary
Orcas Island Freight Lines and Island Trucking & Hauling are seeking a reliable, professional Class A CDL Driver to join our team. This position involves transporting a variety of loads including freight, recyclables, solid waste, logs, construction materials, and other commodities throughout the San Juan Islands and Northwest Washington.
The primary route is Orcas Island to the Burlington/Bellingham area and back, typically 4–5 round trips per week. Routes, equipment, and daily responsibilities may vary, and drivers may operate dry vans, flatbeds, walking-floor trailers, refuse transfer trailers, and other commercial vehicles as needed.
A significant portion of this position may involve flatbed hauling, including securing loads with chains, binders, straps, and tarps. Applicants should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and understand the importance of proper load securement and safety procedures.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, adaptable, and comfortable working independently while representing our company professionally with customers, vendors, and the public.
A valid Class A CDL and the ability to operate a manual transmission are required.
This position is ideal for a driver who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is willing to help wherever needed.
