For over 20 years, Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival has filled the month of August with renowned classical musicians from around the world. Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann’s innovative programming exposes audiences in the theater and around the Orcas Island community to musicians of extraordinary talent, performing repertoire from a broad range of periods and styles from early music to commissioned premieres. Informative lectures, special performances for seniors and children, Hamlet Concerts, and occasional Outdoor Concerts are all part of the summer festivities.
Throughout the year, OICMF offers opportunities for informative and engaging interaction between artists and community members with music education, interactive video sessions, community concerts, pop-up performances, and concerts in private homes.
