Launched in 2014, Orcas Island Distillery is intimately connected to the agricultural history of our region. Our award-winning whiskeys are made from 100% Skagit Valley Malt and created exclusively here on Orcas Island. We mill, cook, and ferment the malt, then distill the wash over an open flame. It’s an old-world way of working, and it’s the only way we know to make a great whiskey.
Our Apple Brandy is made from fruit hand-picked from the island's historic orchards and offers flavor profiles unavailable in modern commercial orchards. The hundred-year-old trees that remain offer a unique opportunity to create delicious brandies with a subtlety of flavor that cannot be duplicated.
